Many people have asked that I make the Cairngorm Series downloadable (the video portions). Since I have gotten a handful of requests this week – I determined to go ahead and post the links:
UPDATE: Many people didn’t realize that there are written tutorials and exercise files that go along with each tutorial. You can find those here.
These videos are in FLV format. You will need an FLV player to view them. Adobe Media Player is the best FLV player, but they have not yet released a version for AIR 1.0. Until they do – you can use the following:
Note: There IS a Part 6 coming soon to the Cairngorm series. I was waiting on another developer to get finished on a specific project, but it doesn’t appear that will happen in the near future – so I won’t hold it up any longer.
you rocks! thanks.
I just watched part 5. Great job. I’ll be passing this around the office in the morning!
Looking forward to part 6!

thank you so much. stef
Thanks a lot nice job. Just wanted to mention that vlc media player also handles flv files
Anxiously awaiting part 6…
Great job, these have really helped me understand Cairngorm…
Hi David, as now cairngorm is very clear to me, I was trying to develop my project using Cairngorm. But my God – I need to write so many classes that I am kind of mixing up who is doing what!! How to organize them? Also so many classes – causing problem with naming convention. You mentioned at the end of your fifth tutorial that the 6th one will be regarding code generation so I guess it will also cover something like UML/Cairngen so that we can see the the application’s MVC relations visually. I am counting – it is been more than 2 weeks that you mentioned, “I won’t hold it up any longer”. Please let us see the 6th beauty!!!!
Cheers…
yes.. eagerly awaiting the 6th tutorials.. cannot thank you enough for providing these

I am very grateful to people like you for providing the rest of us with this kind of guidance. The videos and the written tutorials help me to understand this so much better than anything else I’ve seen on the internet regarding Cairngorm. And, I can review the material repeatedly until it finally sinks in. If you’re ever in Atlanta, I’d be more than happy to buy you a couple of beers.
I’m waiting since months for the sixth tutorial. Pleeeeease
I’m from India

Great job, outstanding introduction to Cairngorm. Can’t wait to see part number 6.
Great Job, Cairngorm intimidated me and via your videos, the beast is tamed… At least it will be.
Thanks Dave

When typing LoginEvent constructor you mentioned that we don’t specify void return type because constructor always returns void.
Actually constructor always returns reference to the constructed class instance. It’s rather obvious and imho this is the reason why someone made language rule that we may not specify constructor return type.
gr8 videos. Very good platform to learn cairngorm without any efforts. Thanks so much. Waiting for further videos. Sanjeev
