Yahoo and Microsoft Might Not Be a Done Deal

TechCrunch reported today that other companies (such as News Corp.) are interested in Yahoo as well. I am really hoping that whoever purchases Yahoo will preserve a bit of its online identity. I also hope that whoever purchases Yahoo (even if it is Microsoft) continues the work of supporting Flash, Flex, and ColdFusion developers.

I agree with you that it will indeed be a shame if Microsoft nullify the support Yahoo have shown for Flash etc.
However, I think that whilst it is not the main goal it is certainly one of the added benefits for Microsoft of buying out Yahoo. After all, they will have to try and push Silverlight and I can’t imagine them keeping up development on the existing Flash based applications. I expect any Flash apps will be phased out pretty quickly!
